Some good'ole irish baseball

The River Bats baseball team had irish night, where they dress in green uniforms and have cleaver irish names on their backs. Fun in theory but with no numbers on the front, a real pain in the butt :)

High waters flood out families.

LouAnn Jost is staying at her cabin for five months while her new home is being built. But Jost and her husband didn't expect to be using their portable shower that they use for camping at their home along 2 Rivers Road on Two River Lake near St. Anna.  Due to the high waters it is causing some residents to use portable toilets and showers because their septic systems are flooded Thursday, July 21.

Systema

I'm not sure what it is about minnesota and people not having A/C---yea, yea sure it is cold a lot of the time, but now we are MELTING. Here is some martial art stuff, of course taken in the studio with no air...literally my body was dripping.

Jack Gustafson of St. Cloud Karate & T'ai Chi Instruction demonstrates with a student some moves from Systema, a Russian form of martial arts Tuesday, July 19. Gustafson has been teaching Systema for five years.
While in training Gustafson uses dulled knifes with experienced students.
"The body responds better to the feel of real metal," Gustafson said.

Lamest of the lame

I had the lamest of all lame assignments yesterday. First it sounds cool, taking photos of phone batteries that have been damaged due to heat/leaving phones in the car. Well when I showed up, apparently the manager had mailed all the messed up batteries back on Monday--so buzz kill.
Here is what I managed to pull out of my butt, and of course it is huge on the local page, ugh. lol

Paul Kantor, subject matter expert, at the Sprint store in Sartell shows a comparison of a battery that has been damaged by heat (left) to a normal battery.
