Week # 5 Practicum

FEB 27, 2011--

Parents and relatives take part in a game of musical chairs at the Special Olympics Basketball Social Sunday, Feb 27, 2011. Tracy Johnson is the winner of the game as she pushes Judy Johnson onto the floor. The social happens once a year as a way to get everyone together and just have fun, Brenda Adams, Special Olympics cheerleader coach said.
Judy Johnson was at the event with her daughter, Brittany Hunt and Tracy Johnson was with her brother, Dewayne Buton, and husband, Evan Johnson.

FEB 27, 2011--

The 2011 Cupid's Cuties Beauty Pageant in Scottsville, Ky was held Sunday, Feb 27, 2011. Onna Green, 2, right, and Jessica Gentry, 2, play together before their age group goes up on stage. Green and Gentry are avid pageant participants. They are pageant best friends, Afton Green said, they meet though pageants.

FEB 28, 2011--

Brooklyn Carroll, 18 months, plays with a Bella at the front of her Nana's, Jean Elmore, dog parlor. Elmore has been a groomer for 10 years and been at her business A Creative Cut Pet Spa, since October.
Brooklyn is the youngest of Elmore's grandchildren, who is with her at the parlor each day she works.
"All of my babies have either grown up in a beauty salon or dog parlor," Elmore said, who is also works at a beauty salon.

Sports Week

This was the week that started us on our still on going project of sports. Two action and a feature. We also had a sports deadline assignment..but those weren't my best...so let's not upload those on here :)

Feb 4--
Self-proclaimed "Sparta Boy" cheers on the student section during South Warren High School's homecoming game Friday night. The Spartans won 68-46 against Caverna.

Feb 4--
South Warren High School girls basketball won their second win of the year against Caverna Friday night. Freshman, Rachel Garden rushes the ball to help make the 54-48 win.

Feb 5--
WKU lose 31-5 against Emory University on Saturday, Feb. 5. Alex Lee, a member on the rugby team, runs the ball.

Week # 4 Practicum

FEB 14, 2011--

Kristy Coker, math teacher at Bowling Green High School, received a singing valentine on Monday, Feb 14, 2011.
The Caveman Chorus quartet, Lock and Key, delivered six singing grams in BGHS, with boxes of chocolate and roses.
Lock and Key, from left to right, Lindell Pogue, George Coker, David White, Bob Hughes, was one of the four barbershop quartets that performed singing valentines on Sunday and Monday.

FEB 18, 2011--

Andrea Ray, of the SOKY Happenings, "Gamma Hammers" spells the word, Chaparral, wrong during the third round of the 6th annual Spell-a-Bration.
Left, Christian Parrish, and Jen Francis, were the other members of the team. The Spell-a-Bration was put on by the Bowling Green and Warren County Community Education program at the Sloan Convention Center Friday, Feb 18, 2011.

Week # 3 Practicum

This was a good weekend mom came down for visit, with this class I'm in--weekends are the best for photos, so I haven't been home in a while, so I was glad to have a familiar face.

FEB 11, 2011--
Samantha Bashman, 12, and McKenzie Ribar, 8, text friends during the Valentine's Day Lock In at The Skatebox, Saturday night, Feb. 11, 2011.
"I like coming to the skate rink because I get to meet new friends," Ribar said.

FEB 11, 2011--
"My favorite part was slow dancing because I get to sit on my dads lap," Sophie South said.
Sophie's dad, Tim, where different from a lot of other couples, because Tim is in a wheelchair.
The Souths danced together Friday night, Feb. 11, 2011 at the My Girl Valentine Dance at Phil Moore Park. The 13th Annual dance was the largest with 500 attends put on by Bowling Green Park and Recreation.

FEB 13, 2011--
Walker Williams runs with his dog Memphis, left, and another dog at the Bark Park, Sunday, Feb 13, 2011.
The weather in Bowling Green was in the high 50s which was a change from a week of snow days.
This was the first time for Williams family to bring the 3-week-old puppy to the park.
"He just needed to be able to run around, plus this is such a pretty weekend," Melanie Williams, mother, said.

Week # 2 Practicum

This is becoming one the of the best photo classes I have ever taken. Learning so much.



Feb 6--
Brett Vaughn, 12, and his mother, Rachel Upton watch the NFL Super Bowl XLV on one of the three 16 foot television at Cornerstone Church. This is the first year for the community super bowl party at this church campus because the new location opened in October 2010. Brett made his afro with matching bandana and three signs for the event. He likes watching the game at Cornerstone because he gets to be with his church family.

Feb 5--
Paige Mitchell holds a snake at the Reptile Expo show Saturday, Feb. 5th at the Knicely Conference Center. "We like looking at the snakes," Emby Mitchell, right, said, "it is just something fun to do." Layne Frederick, middle, bought two mice at the show just because he wanted too. "They were only 50 cents," Frederick said.

Feb 5--
Munfordville Middle School cheerleaders, from left to right, Olivia Nichols, sixth grade, Madison Underwood, eighth grade, Carlie Seymour, seventh grade, wait for their turn to complete at the Cupid Classic Saturday, Feb. 5th at Warren East Middle School. The girls competed in the small size division. "We're just really nervous and ready to complete," Seymour said.
