I had a nice full week. From a memorial balloon release, honoring a fallen Kentucky State Trooper, prepping for Memorial Day, TCHS senior walk and CHS prom.

Viola Benaitis releases balloons for her two sons, Richard and Ronald Absher, who passed away in 1983 and 2003. John Kirtley watches as she releases the balloons. Benaitis has been sending balloons to her sons for 32 years. The Compassionate Friends of Central Kentucky hosted the balloon release on Monday for families who have lost their children.

Taylor County High School seniors from the Class of 2016 walked the halls
of Taylor County Elementary School Wednesday, where they were greeted
with cheers and applause by the younger students. Below, Reagan Pollock is
all smiles, while Brooklyn Lee, above, shared a hug with one of her former
