Week #1 Practicum

Okay--since I didn't start this until now I have to do some backup posts before I can show you recent things I've done in class.

JAN 29-
Stonewall Elementary school 5th graders from Lexington, Ky took part in the 2010 Kentucky First Lego League State Robotics Championship at Western Kentucky University in E.A. Diddle Arena, Saturday, Jan. 29. This is the first time competing for 11-year-olds, Maya Elias and Sophia Carlton on team "Mindstorms."
"I'm excited to have made it this year. It is not about winning but having a good time," Carlton said.
Elias and Carlton completed four missions out of 10 during the first round.

Jan 28--
Recent WKU graduate, Cassie Brooks, donated 14 inches of hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths organization which makes real hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
Before the haircut Brooks was anxious and terrified about having short hair again after four years of growing it out.

"I am doing this for someone else. Some woman who is going through chemotherapy who desperately desires to feel pretty again. Well, this lady can put a wig full of my golden, wavy, insane locks upon her head and feel fabulous," Brooks said.

JAN 26--
Three-year-olds Carter Murphy, right, and Levi Harmon, left, attend Warren County Public Library's Preschool Story time on Wednesday, Jan. 26th. The toddlers took part in singing, listening to stories, and a craft. Levi said his favorite part is when he gets a sticker at the end of the day.
